ST ENGINEERING
MSS NEXUS PORTAL REVAMP
MSS NEXUS is ST Engineering’s internal staff portal where all employees are required to clock in their work hours and plans every month. Managers are required to check against the accuracy of the submissions from employees and approve them for auditing purposes. To build better products with the end-users in mind, the UX team were tasked to relook into the old structures of the portal to further enhance the website architecture, look and feel.

Former MSS NEXUS
As the portal was previously developed by a batch of senior engineers without the consideration of user experience in mind, there was a lack of coherency when navigating the website. Moreover, it was time-consuming for users to finish a specific task as some features are hard to spot, while some created more confusion as the buttons and page layouts may not align with one another.

Solution Process
To get started, we engaged the end-user groups for a couple of user testing and interviews to understand the entire workflow before we disintegrated the website to reorganise the entire information architecture. The user flow is separated based on 4 main user groups as each user has their own specific task to achieve based on requirements.
Next, we built a centralised Design System (referencing from Material Design / Medium) so these are implemented throughout the portal with ease. I was put in charge of the website along with another designer to work on the lo-fi, as well as the hi-fi flow for the entire portal.
